How to Upgrade Lures

There are two types of boxes in Ultimate Fishing: Rod Boxes and Lure Boxes

Lure boxes can be attained at the store or by playing 1v1 matches against other players. If you happen upon a lure box, which will be very common, you’ll need to open it. Its contents will have a few different fish that serve as lures. If they are accompanied by a message stating “New Lure” this means it will be your first time encountering this lure. If not, you can use them to upgrade your existing lures.

Go over to the lure menu (pictured next to the bottom of the screen, above “Store”, and select the lure you want to upgrade. You can tell you have enough lures to upgrade it if above the lure level there is an upwards arrow. Tap the lure to see more information on it and tap the “Upgrade” button that will prompt you to spend a certain amount of currency in order to level up your lure by one level, or the maximum amount of levels possible at the time.

Remember that instead of getting lure from boxes, you can also get them from fishing, although the type of lure you receive will be determined by the lure you are currently using and where you are fishing.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to upgrade the generic lure for any location. This lure is meant as a starter lure that randomly catches fish in a given location.
