Confused about DNA, can't seem to win or can't see your country on the map? We have the answers to all of the most common Plague Inc. questions here!
How do I win?
When playing Plague Inc., your objective is to kill every person on Earth. So here are the three ways the game can end:
1 - You infect and kill every single person before the cure is complete.
2 - The cure is completed before you kill everyone, and it destroys your plague.
3 - You kill everyone infected, but leave some healthy people behind.
To win you have to not only infect, but kill everyone in the world! You will see how well you did on the results screen. When you win, the word "Victory" will appear after the game ends. When going back to the Plague Types menu, you'll notice stripes on the upper right corner of the plagues you have won with: one stripe for Casual, two for Normal and three for Brutal.
I can't see my country on the world map!
Trying to find or wipe out your own country on the world map? The development team tried to make the map as real as possible, but with almost 200 countries in the world, it would be too difficult to tap them all! There are no plans to update this, as changing the map would alter the whole DNA collection mechanic of the game.
Please feel free to keep infecting your region even if your country has been merged!
How do I unlock genes and new plague types?
Every victory in Casual Mode awards you a new gene. In both Normal and Brutal Modes, you get a gene and a new plague.
While the Standard plagues are available in the free version without needing to buy anything, the ability to use genes is a perk locked to the full version, as is the option to play the game in fast forward and the removal of all ads.
Should you later decide the game is worth buying, all Genes you earned until then will be available to you. Note that any purchase unlocks the full version.
What are DNA Points?
The DNA points you receive as the game progresses changes depending on where you are in the game, they are not given at regular intervals, except when you infect a new country, in which case you will always get a red bubble.
If you look closely at the initial stages of a game you get more DNA points for infecting people than later in the game; if it was constant, you would end up with so many DNA points that it would be impossible to lose. The same is true the other way around: if it was proportional, there wouldn't be any DNA points for the first 20 minutes of the game, which would make it unplayable.
Part of the challenge is to manage the DNA points you receive. Also, as you infect the whole world, you start getting DNA points from killing the infected.
What is the full version and how do I upgrade?
Unlocking the full version of Plague Inc. gives you the option to set the time to fast forward, the ability to modify the genetic code which allows you to unlock more genes through game play and the removal of all ads from within the game.
Please note that any Plague/Cheat type you unlock whilst playing the free version is only available to you if you upgrade to the full version of the game.
Any item you buy will unlock the full version.
