- In this patch, we're modifying the repulsive force of certain pitches and fine-tuning the skills and stat balance of various characters.
Let’s dive into the changes together.
Here we go!
Patch Highlight
In-game Balance Changes
1. Decrease in Repulsive Force of Certain Pitches
The repulsive force of the changeup, curveball (curve, Wade curve, Josh curve), and knuckleball has been slightly reduced. As a result, the distance of balls hit from these pitches will be slightly shorter.
Changeups and curveballs are classic slower pitches designed to catch batters off-guard. However, in our game, these pitches are often significantly slower than in reality, making them easier to hit with precision.
This disparity has led to a higher probability of home runs compared to other pitches. To address this imbalance, the development team has decided to reduce the repulsive force of these pitches slightly.
(Notably, the circle changeup, which already has a lower home run rate, will remain unchanged.)
With this adjustment, we aim to encourage more active use of changeups and curveballs.
2. Application of Outfielder Defensive Ability
In Baseball Clash, outfielders with higher defensive abilities are designed to react more quickly by locating the ball’s landing spot sooner and initiating movement faster.
However, we discovered an issue where this logic was not being properly applied. This has now been corrected.
Following the update, outfielders with higher defensive abilities will accurately identify the landing spot faster and start moving sooner, as intended.
3. Issue of Shortstop and Second Baseman Positions Swapping
After the last update, an issue was identified where the positions of the shortstop and second baseman were swapped in certain situations. This issue has now been resolved.
Character Balance Changes
Fernandez's Skill Changes
Fernandez's skill is being revamped!
Since Fernandez’s release, we observed that many players would throw three straight balls first, leading to negative feedback about the gameplay feeling too slow and drawn-out.
To address this unintended outcome, we’ve revamped Fernandez’s skill mechanism.
Now, Fernandez’s skill reduces the distance of hit balls by -5%/-7.5%/-10%, depending on baserunner positions.
For example, when the bases are fully loaded, the maximum reduction of -10% is applied. This change aligns with Fernandez’s clutch personality, allowing him to excel in high-pressure situations while controlling long hits in scoring positions.
We believe this adjustment will reduce sluggish gameplay and deliver a more exciting and dynamic in-game experience, further enhancing Fernandez’s unique identity.
Rin’s Skill Changes
Despite being a new character, Rin appears to have fallen short of expectations. Statistics reveal that her usage rate is quite low.
Although Rin is no longer on sale, we want to support players who purchased or earned her through gameplay. To address this, we’ve decided to enhance Rin by adjusting her skill mechanism.
Now, the 2S condition is no longer required to activate Rin’s skills, making her abilities more accessible. However, the skill effectiveness has been adjusted from -20% to -10%.
Additionally, when Rin is in the same lineup with Rei, the skill effectiveness has been modified from -25% to -20%.
It’s time for Rin to shine - let her take flight and show her full potential!
Mickey’s Skill Adjustment
Mickey’s high jump catch skill is getting a boost! His jump distance has been increased by 20%, enabling him to catch higher balls than ever before.
It’s time for Mickey to shine once again!
Leo’s Skill Adjustment
Before
After
Although Leo’s skill allows for a special throwing motion if input before catching the ball, his usage rate has remained low.
To encourage players to include Leo in their starting lineup, we’ve enhanced his skill by increasing the speed of his unique motion by 50% and boosting his throwing speed by 20% as an additional effect.
While Leo’s skill may be a bit tricky to master, it delivers exceptional efficiency when activated.
Willie’s Stat Adjustment
Willie has a unique skill: the higher the pitcher’s spin, the more his power increases. However, his high power stats sometimes worked against him in gameplay.
To address this, we’ve adjusted his default stats, making it easier to notice the power increase effect. Additionally, his defensive capabilities as an infielder have been improved, making him a more versatile and reliable choice.
It’s time to keep your eyes on Willie!
Antonio’s Skill Adjustment
Antonio’s skill effects have been partially enhanced! His success rate for stealing bases has been increased when he’s a runner, significantly improving his chances of successfully stealing from second to third base when left unchecked.
Let’s give Antonio a spot in the starting lineup once more!
Rei's Skill Adjustment
Rei has a special skill that allows her to see the ball move extremely slowly when activated. However, we've received feedback that the ball slowed down too much, making it more difficult to hit.
To address this, we’ve made a slight adjustment: the speed reduction during skill activation has been changed from 50% to 40%.
Johnson’s Skill Adjustment
Johnson has a powerful skill that reveals the pitch location with a certain chance, but his usage has been declining.
To keep Johnson relevant in the game, we've slightly increased the probability of his skill activation.
Jordan’s Stat Adjustment
The man who never makes an error, Jordan!
Jordan has a skill that prevents errors, but his stats were heavily skewed toward defense. To make his stat distribution more balanced and efficient, we’ve made adjustments aimed at increasing his usage rate.
Now, Jordan not only boasts reliable defense but also improved batting skills!
That wraps up this balance patch. The development team is constantly monitoring your feedback to ensure a fair and enjoyable gaming experience. We're committed to addressing any problem areas and making continuous improvements.
