To summarize the rules. (link)
There are several areas on the baseball field:
- Bases, there are 4 of them
- Baselines, this is an imaginary straight line between each adjacent base.
- Batter's and Catcher's box, where the batter and catcher stay
- Pitcher's mound, located in the middle of the diamond, where the pitcher pitches.
To score points, the batting team must run around the pitch (diamond) and return to the home base. Each player that reaches the home base, will get one point for its team.
The player running around the diamond will be eliminated if it doesn't reach the base before the ball does. Also, if the ball is caught without touching the ground, every player from the opposing team that is not on a base will be eliminated.
When batting the ball it's important to do it within the baselines, otherwise it will be considered a foul.
The highlight of a match is certainly if a player manages to do a Homerun. A Homerun happens when the batter hits the ball out of reach and the player runs the entire field. This can even be better if three players are already on the field, resulting in the three of them running all the baseball field uninterrupted, alongside the batter and scoring 4 points. This is called a Grand Slam.
We hope you enjoy the game! We have a lot more content coming!
