Baseball Clash 2.1 Balance Patch
In the 2.1 patch several pitch types are being rebalanced along with skill and stat adjustments for various players.
Let’s dive in and see what’s new!
Patch Highlights
Pitch Balance Adjustment
Four-Seam Fastball
The minimum speed for the four-seam fastball is being increased by 10%.
At lower levels, four-seam fastballs have been too slow, making them feel less like a true fastball. To address this, low-level pitchers will now throw slightly faster.
The maximum speed remains mostly unchanged, so high-level pitchers will see little to no impact.
Circle Changeup
The break on the circle changeup has been slightly reduced.
This adjustment makes it a bit easier for batters to connect with the pitch.
Luna Sinker
The speed of Luna’s Sinker has been slightly reduced (about 5%).
While this pitch is known for being both very fast and having significant movement, it has proven overly difficult for batters to hit.
This adjustment brings it more in line with other pitches for better balance.
Pitch’s Repulsive Force
Resistance to the rebound effect for changeups and knuckleballs has been increased.
- Changeups: +8% rebound resistance
- Knuckleballs: +4% rebound resistance
As a result, balls hit off these pitches will travel slightly less distance, which should reduce the home run rate for these two pitch types.
Character Balance Changes
Jimmy
Jimmy’s skill effects for three-pitch combinations in a single at-bat have been strengthened, as they are challenging to perform:
- Two-Seam → Two-Seam → Knuckle: Control +30 → +40
- Curve → Curve → Knuckle: Speed +30 → +40
- Two-Seam → Curve → Knuckle (on hit): Distance -5% → -8%
- Curve → Two-Seam → Knuckle: Movement +30 → +40
- Knuckle → Knuckle → Knuckle: Knuckleball Speed -10% → -15%
Note: The effects for two-pitch combinations remain unchanged.
It’s a good time to try out Jimmy if you haven’t done so!
Meiling
Meiling has gone through her own anime-training-arc and has learned the Knuckleball!
Her naturally fast pitching style should create an interesting synergy with the slower tempo of the knuckleball.
We hope this update gives the often underappreciated Meiling a well-deserved chance to shine.
Nia
Nia’s skill effect has been adjusted from Control +30 → +20.
Since Matthew’s speed boost was also tuned down from +30 → +20, Nia’s usage rate has been climbing steadily.
This adjustment brings Nia in line with Matthew, maintaining better overall balance.
Jay
Skill activation rate has been increased by 10%.
With improved runner control, we hope to see Jay appearing in starting lineups more frequently.
Neville
Sliding speed has been decreased by 10%.
His ability to score from scoring position was considered too strong, so this adjustment balances him with other characters.
While his skill has been nerfed, his hitting stats will be buffed later in the stat adjustments below.
Joe
Joe’s skill now provides an additional Speed boost!
While Joe has always had reliable fielding and throwing skills, his usage rate was lower than expected, so we’ve decided to buff his ability.
On activation, he now gains:
- Fielding +40 for quicker ball tracking
Speed +40 to cover more ground even faster
Character Stats Changes
Maria
To reduce Maria’s home run ratio, her Velocity stat has been decreased. To make up for this, her Spin stat has been increased.
This adjustment aims to lower her home run rate and create a more balanced pitching style.
Caroline
As a control specialist, Caroline now has increased pitch movement to help with striking out the batter.
With a slider that breaks even more sharply, she should be able to generate more strikes and keep batters guessing.
Yuna
Movement has been slightly decreased, while Control has been increased.
Since Yuna doesn’t rely on high-movement pitches, this change helps lower her long-ball rate while improving her overall consistency.
Barry
For Barry, the less impactful Defense stat split for catchers has been slightly reduced, while Throwing has been improved.
This adjustment should make Barry a more appealing choice in lineups.
Edwards
Defense has been slightly reduced, while Contact has been increased.
With his strong performance on the first pitch, we hope these changes will give Edwards more starting opportunities.
Tony
Defense emphasis has been reduced, while Contact has been increased.
As a catcher with already strong throwing skills, this change should make Tony a more versatile and valuable player, leading to increased usage.
Phoenix
For Phoenix, both Defense and Running stats have been slightly lowered, while Contact has been increased.
With improved hitting accuracy, Phoenix should now be able to get on base more often and better leverage her skills as a runner.
Neville
For Neville, Defense and Throwing have been slightly reduced, while Contact has been increased.
Since Neville’s skill requires him to reach base, this adjustment aims to make it easier for him to get on base more frequently.
Additional tweaks
A bug was found in the hitting distance reduction logic from the previous update.
The issue caused a reduced hit distance when hitting a ball far outside the strike zone to be less than intended. As a result, some skills designed to reduce hit distance (notably for Muller, Murdock, and Fernandez) were also less effective than they should have been.
This issue has been fixed in this update.
That concludes this balance patch.
The dev team is always working hard to ensure you have a fair and fun in-game experience.
